Cecil Leo Buckner, Jr. was born in Indianapolis on November 1, 1936. Growing up in Indianapolis, Cecil was a member of the Boy Scouts and proved to be a highly child as he attended the prestigious Cathedral High School. Known to many as eccentric, known to all as a lover of knowledge, and known to few as a close friend.
He served honorably in the heat of the Korean War, earning the distinction of Corporal upon ending his tour. His laugh is one that cannot be forgotten. The warmth of his presence sitting at the Thanksgiving table, reciting key historical events and buoyantly quizzing the family on those events, will be greatly missed. Working as an engineer for 37 years, he was a wonderful provider and well traveled business man.
In his latter years, Cecil could be found staying informed by means of watching CNN news programs in his man cave everyday. Let us reminisce on the love shared with him this day and forever as a Brother, Husband, and Father.
