Celester M. Hamlett

Celester attended the public schools of Madison County. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church Denmark, Tennessee. In 1959 she relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana and joined Eastern Star Baptist Church

where she served on the usher board. In 2003 she joined Zion Hope Baptist Church.

Celester was united in Holy Matrimony to Albert B. Hamlett, who preceded her in death. No children were born to this union.

She was employed at Western Electric for 10 years and was later employed at United Hospital Services retiring in 1990. Celester loved to talk, shop and plant flowers.

Celester departed this life on March 14, 2018 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by brothers Earnest L. Watkins, Willie F. Watkins, David Watkins and sisters Elizabeth Burton, Lee Anna McBride and Eunice Stoeling.

Celester leaves to cherish her memory sisters; Sylvester Reaves (Jackson, Tennessee) and Alice Woodson (Indianapolis, Indiana) nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
