
Charles E. McPike, 87, passed away March 23, 2011. Charles was a graduate of Purdue University. He was a veteran of WWII in the Army Air Force and became a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Charles was employed by Detroit Diesel Allison Transmission, Division of General Motors Corp. for 32 years and retired as a supervisor of heavy duty transmission technical publications.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Brochin Uebelhor McPike, three sons and their wives, Steve and Carol McPike, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Tom and Joanna McPike, Conyers, Georgia; Scott McPike, Bedford, Indiana, son-in-law Robert Canada, Sussex, Wisconsin,, step-son Joe Uebelhor, Martinsville, Indiana, grandchildren, Ian, Sean, Jade, Amy, Rebekah, David, Eric, and Danny, and a brother Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ethel McPike, step-daughter Carole Canada, brothers Howard, and John.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at the Crown Hill Funeral Home with calling from 11:00 A.M. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Riley Hospital for Children to purchase a Radio Flyer wagon (used to transport patients) in memory of his brother John F. McPike who passed away when he was a patient at age 10, September 20, 1938.
