Christina Ann Burgess, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. She was born on November 21, 1943, in Manhattan, New York, to John Clement Burgess and Mary A. Burgess (née Chmelir).
Christina lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and steadfast faith. A lifelong Methodist, she found comfort in her faith and the fellowship of her church. She appreciated life’s simple blessings and will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Clement Burgess and Mary A. Burgess (née Chmelir), and her sisters, Margaret & Mary Jo Burgess.
Christina was never married and had no children. She is survived by her cousin, Anita Koenig, her only living relative, who will forever cherish Christina’s memory and the special bond they shared.
Family and friends are invited to attend services on Tuesday, August 11, at the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a brief memorial service at 12:00 p.m., with interment at 1:00 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to Castleton Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Christina’s family extends heartfelt appreciation to all who shared in her life with friendship, kindness, and compassion. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her. May she rest in the eternal peace of God’s loving care.
