

Colin Daniel Shumate, 44, passed away on May 11, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on June 18, 1980, Colin was known for his generous spirit and immense capacity for love, touching the lives of many with his kindness and willingness to help others.
Colin embraced life with passion, evident in his career and hobbies. He thrived as an over-the-road (OTR) truck driver, relishing the adventure each new journey brought. His recent graduation from Catapult Indiana Training marked a promising shift towards a career in manufacturing, a path he was excited to explore. Beyond his professional life, Colin found joy in the outdoors, often hunting with friends and family or riding his motorcycle, enjoying the freedom and the scenery it offered.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Felicia Shumate; stepchildren Riley, Hayden, and Izzy, and the family pet, Pipa. His son, Mason Golden; and his mother, Melinda L. Shumate. Colin will also be dearly missed by his grandparents, Darrel and Wilma Shumate and Ray and Kimberly Rush: his niece, Meleeza Shumate (Cristal); and nephew, Austin (Alisha) Shumate (Cristopher). His life was enriched by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Brent A. Shumate; his sister, Cristal D Shumate; his brother, Cristopher D.Shumate; and his grandparents and great-grandparents; a beloved pet named Rillo.
Funeral services are set for Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a service to follow at Family Funeral Care Rockville West, 5791Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Colin's life was a testament to the power of caring and adventure, and his memory will forever inspire those who knew him.
