Connie Jo Savage

Connie Jo Savage (Markey), affectionately known as Connie Jo, was the 5th of 8 children of Napoleon and Mary E. (Hinton) Markey (a.k.a. Betty), born April 4, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN. Connie Jo shared her formative years with her older siblings Napoleon Jr. (a.k.a. Hoochie), William (a.k.a. Tinsy), Blanche and Anthony (a.k.a. Tony); and her younger siblings Theresa, Maurice (Tamara) and John (Tiffany). Connie attended St. Andrew's Catholic School and Arlington High School. She graduated from Arlington in 1975.

Some time after graduation, Connie joined the United State's Army, and proudly served our Country. Connie worked in the Healthcare field as a Health Technician and Home Health Aid for nearly 30 years; caring for compassionately, respectfully and with excellence, countless patients. Families quickly realized if Connie Jo showed up to care for your loved one, their family member would be in outstanding hands. Beyond her life's work in Healthcare, Connie was proud of and cherished her "boys", Calvin Franklin Savage and Cassidy Jerome Savage.

Connie had a tremendous love of music, as an adolescent and teenager she always had the latest album and knew all the dances. On any given day growing up, when Connie was alerted that her Mother was pulling into the driveway, she could be seen sprinting through the house to the dining room to lower the volume of the song that was blaring from the speakers. Let's just say Betty Markey didn't share the same passion for music and certainly not at the louder volume level Connie enjoyed. Only Connie's passion for reading rivaled her love of music. Connie was also known to enjoy the occasional Confrontational T.V. show, a la Jerry Springer.

Connie Jo Savage departed this life on May 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by her Father, Napoleon and her Brother, William. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her Sons Calvin and Cassidy, Grandchildren Caliana, Keara, Nehemiah, Cassidy Jr., Brooklyn and Ella Reign, Mother Mary, a.k.a. Betty. Siblings Napoleon Jr., Blanche, Anthony, Theresa, Maurice (Tamara) and John (Tiffany). Nieces & Nephews, Jackie, Warrick, Fia, Jamor, Damor, Myles, Jameisha, Hannah, Saherra, Gabriel and Jazmyn. A Grand Niece, Grand Nephews and a host of Cousins. And, her "roadies", Denise, Coutrese and Deborah.
