Daniel Edward Doss Sr.

In Loving Memory of Mr. Daniel Edward “Eddie” Doss Sr. Mr. Daniel Edward Doss Sr., affectionately known as “Eddie,” was born on April 7, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Kenneth Doss Sr. and Rossie Mae Doss Hoyt. He was the youngest of three children born to their union.

Eddie professed his faith in Christ at an early age. He received his education through the Indianapolis Public School system and graduated from Manuel High School. Eddie dedicated 36 years of faithful service to the Indianapolis Public Schools, where he worked as a custodian. Through his work, he became a familiar and friendly face to countless students and staff — always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm smile.

He loved fishing, watching sports, and playing cards, Sunday Funday but most of all, Eddie enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the heart of his neighborhood — always caring for others and watching over his community. He treated his children’s friends as his own, and neighbors could rest easy knowing that Eddie kept a watchful eye on their homes while they were away. He took great pride in his yard and was often seen outside, working and waving to everyone who passed by.

On October 10, 2025, Mr. Daniel Edward Doss Sr. was called home to eternal rest at the age of sixty-nine years, six months, and seven days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Doss Sr. and Rossie Mae Doss Hoyt; his brother, Kenneth Doss Jr.; and his beloved son, Daniel Edward Doss Jr.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Diane Marie Doss; two loving daughters, Deandre McClendon and Danyelle Hoskins; one brother, Phillip Doss Sr.; ten cherished grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Eddie’s warmth, kindness, and joyful presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, October 24 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N. Goodlet Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Eddie will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
