David Eugene Crane

David Eugene Crane, 68, of Greenfield passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 22, 2026, of a sudden heart attack. David was born in Indianapolis to Eugene and Eda (Geiger) Crane and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School with the Class of 1976. In retirement he was working for Napa Auto Parts and Dellen Automotive in Greenfield. If you knew David, and there was few in a 500 mile radius of Indianapolis that didn't, the jobs were really to give Cathy a break and get him out of the house! David loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, all things racing, especially the American Sprint Car Tour, and Midget Car racing with Josh when Josh was younger. He was his kids and grandkids, and friends of grandkids, biggest cheerleader attending many sports events and dance recitals. David really never met a stranger and could talk to anyone, and he did. He was loved by many, and loved many, especially his family. David was met in heaven on Monday by his parents, his son, Jeremy Crane, and granddaughter Kyleigh Marie Crane.

David is survived by the love of his life for more than 44 years, his wife, Catherine (Mertes) Crane; his son Joshua Crane (Allyson); his grandchildren, Brayden, Cayson and Gavyn Crane; his siblings, Randy Crane (Joyce), Sheri Campbell and Bard Crane; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many many friends.

Visitation will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 East Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 East Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237, on Monday, June 29, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm. David will be entombed with his son and granddaughter at Washington Park East Cemetery.
