He graduated from Boyceville, Wisconsin High School in 1976 and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a Sergeant at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana. Throughout his civilian career, he served as an environmental support technician (water and wastewater operator). His career took him to the states of Texas, Montana, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Maryland, Ohio, and Indiana.
He met his loving wife Ranae in Annapolis, Maryland. They were married by Reverend Brad Thorp on November 3, 1985. They moved to New Knoxville, Ohio, and became a family with the birth of their son Daniel. They later moved to Indianapolis, where the family lives currently. Both Dave and Daniel became involved with the Boy Scouts of America where Dave received youth training and acquired the rank of Wood Badge and Daniel became an Eagle Scout. Dave retired from the town of Brownsburg, Indiana, in 2021 as a Wastewater Superintendent. In retirement Dave focused on taking care of his home and family along with the family’s pet dog “Jake” the guardian of the home.
Dave specifically asked to recognize Brad and Chris Thorp and their four sons, Isaac, Britt, Bo and Wyatt for their love and encouragement over the years. Words could not express his gratitude for their lives and the impact on his family.
Dave’s life embodied what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ with a genuine heart of service. His example left an unforgettable impact on all those who had the privilege to be touched by his life.
