David Starr Neale

David Starr Neale, 82, passed away March 6, 2015. He was born to Paul and Kathryn (Starr) Neale on December 12, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. From 1950-1952, David took Mechanical Engineering Courses at the University of Michigan. Shortly thereafter, he proudly served as a member of the United States Army and was later honorably discharged. On December 1, 1962, David married his sweetheart Gail Irene Rich.

David was involved in the Lions Club Organization. He once received the great recognition of Lion of the Year and was also presented the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian services. David was also an Eagle Scout, loved the outdoors, enjoyed yard work, wood working, and 5 o’clock happy hour with neighbors and friends. Additionally, David and Gail loved camping in their younger years.

David was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Martha Neale Liu.

David is survived by his loving wife Gail Neale of 52 years; brother Bill Neale; son-in-law Chieh-Wei (Jack) Liu; and grandson Andrew Thomas Liu.

Crown Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
