Albert Wendell Brown Sr., 78, departed this life surrounded by family and
friends at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday morning, Jan. 23, 2013, at St. Joseph
Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Tatum, Texas, to the late Pat and Mandy
(Glaspie) Brown. On May 25, 1959, Wendell and Mary E. (Lyle) were united
in holy matrimony.
He retired from the Marion Mallable after it closed in 1978. Wendell was a
faithful deacon at Refreshing Springs Church of God In Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary E. Brown; two sons, A.
Wendell (Tarita) Brown Jr., Andre (Lena) Brown; three daughters, Adrianne
R. Brown (David), Dana R. Wilson, Cheryl (Mark) Sutton, all of Kokomo;
nine grandchildren, TaKesha R. Wilson, A. Wendell Brown III, Davida N.
Johnson, Quentin T. Brown, Whittney M. Sutton, LeAndra R. Brown, Kyle M.
Brown, Gabrielle E. Brown, and Mark E. Sutton II; two great-grandchildren,
Zereya C. Woodard and Joseph D. Brand; a host of nieces, nephews, and
friends.
His parents, seven sisters, seven brothers, and one son, Jeffrey Dean,
preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions can be made to the A. Wendell Brown Sr. Memorial
Scholarship Fund. Envelops will be provided at the church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Refreshing Springs
Church of God In Christ. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb.
1, 2013, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on
Saturday. Elder Andre Lamont Brown and Elder Mark E. Sutton will preside.
Pastor A. Wendell Brown Jr., will be the eulogist. Burial will be in
Sunset Memory Gardens.
