Reggie was born on July 20, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the eldest born to the union of Willie Ray Owens Sr. and Juanita Vaden-McDonald. Reggie attended Indianapolis Public Schools and completed his education at Harry E. Wood High School. Reggie was employed as a skilled maintenance person for many years. He took pride in everything he did and made many friends along the way.
At the age of 20, Reggie professed his hope in God and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. At that time he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he resided for several years, actively discipling many and gaining extended families who love him dearly. Throughout his journey, Reggie was a member of many wonderful churches but in his later years he was a faithful member of New Birth Life Line Ministry, under the leadership of the late Pastor Lindsey L. Crowe Jr. and Pastor Renee' Crowe. Reggie was ordained as a Deacon and proudly served in that capacity from 2010 until the time of his death. He was always a prayer warrior and faithful Bible student who often put the prayers of his loved ones before his own. "Deacon Reggie" is loved and will be greatly missed by his church family.
Reggie loved good music, especially the "oldies". He also loved to watch Western movies and would challenge anyone who would engage with him about trivia regarding his favorite artists and shows. Reggie knew his stuff. All who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him would tell you that Reggie loved his family and friends deeply. During the last year and a half of his life he lived at Hickory Groves Senior Community where he was cherished, adored and will be missed.
Reggie went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the age of 64 years and 8 months at Community East Hospital surrounded by his family.
