Deborah M. Hulbert Schroeder, M.D.,Indianapolis - died April 6, 2012. She was born September 11, 1953 in Angola, Indiana, to the late Olen and Esther Hulbert.
She graduated from Texas Christian University's nursing school in 1975 and worked as a nurse in Auburn, Indiana, and in Indianapolis, prior to her training at I.U. Medical School, Indianapolis. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, in 1988, and established a private practice. She was an excellent pediatrician who loved and served her patients and their families. Due to medical disabilities, she retired from medical practice in 2002, and focused her unconditional love and energy on her family and church.
Deborah married Rev. Melvin Schroeder April 29, 1989. She is survived by her husband Melvin; sons, Benjamin (21) and Nicholas (16); daughter Cathryn (13); step-mother Claudia Hulbert, sister Sharon L. Hulbert; and her brothers and their spouses Michael and Glenda Hulbert, Olen and Melanie Hulbert, and Roy and Sharon A. Hulbert and their children and grandchildren and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents.
