Deborah was born in Chicago, IL to David Moore and Thelma Billups on April 25, 1950. Her family moved to Indianapolis, IN when she was very young. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School and lived in Indianapolis, her entire life.
Deborah was a devout Catholic and attended multiple churches, including Saint Mary, Saint Rita, Saint Andrew, and Saint Joan of Arc.
Deborah began working at the United States Postal Service (USPS) as a young adult and retired as a postal clerk after 40 years.
Being the mother of seven sons, Deborah was a big sports fan and enjoyed cheering for her boys when they were competing. The one thing that brought her even more joy than that was spending time with her grandkids, who she loved deeply! A common saying or quote she was known for was answering the phone by saying, “This is queen Deborah. How may I help you?” And, when you asked her what she was doing, she would say, “Nothing, just sitting here looking good.”
Deborah is preceded in death by her mother, Thelma “Mama” Moore, her brother Darrell “Terry” Moore, and her son Reginald “Reggie” Moore.
Deborah is survived by her sons, Donell Moore, Charlton Moore, Michael Moore, Zyeir Shabete / Kenneth Moore Lasley (Montrice Shabete), Felix Moore (Nisha Moore), and Darron Lasley (Aimbriel Lasley), Sisters; Diana Moore and Denise Reynolds; and Grandchildren; Danielle Davis, Zanna Jones, Donavan Moore, Brittonie Moore, Brandon Moore, Zaria Shabete, and Zyeir Shabete Jr., London Moore, A’Don Moore, Paris Moore, Aliya Carroll, Dacen Lasley, Aven Lasley, and Dane Lasley.
