Can you hear the words to the song of "Amazing Grace?" Listen carefully as we hear this being sung by DeEtta May (Merritt) Burch who entered the Pearly Gates- walking on the streets of gold with Jesus her Savior - 6/12/2026.
DeEtta was born on June 4, 1932 to Charles Merritt and Lulu Welker (both deceased). Her life was wonderful, sharing it with amazing husband Kenneth Raymond Burch who preceded her into glory. With their many years they were happy parents of Six children- Cheryl Cook, Kennetta White, Robin Sword, Terri (Rosie) Burch, Phyllis White, Timothy Burch. What an amazing life DeEtta had, not only raising her own children but also enjoying her extended family- 16 grandchildren, (2 deceased), 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. Her love for her entire family was precious. As we look at the family DeEtta shared life with we can not forget that she had 4 brothers- David Merritt, and Charles Merritt (both deceased), as well as Carl and Arthur Merritt. She also had sisters, Sharon (Lee) Rush and Charlene (Jer) Button. We also need to remember all the church families and friends she was apart of.
As we mourn the loss of this beautiful lady, let's also rejoice as she is living in glory celebrating with the family and friends that passed on before her. Also loving her family and friends that are still living in this world. The song she sings- "Jesus is a Wonderful Savior. He will carry you through" is what she has left for us to remember and hold on to.
