Don Box Sr.

Donald Lee “Don” Box, Sr., 82, died Monday, February 05, 2018. He was born December 13, 1935 to the late Milburn and Violet (Martin) Box in Bedford, IN. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Johnson) Box; son, Edward “Eddie” Box; and sister, Harriett Lee. He could be counted on to work hard and often long days as a heavy equipment operator to support his family. In his retirement he enjoyed watching old westerns like Gun Smoke and Bonanza.

He is survived by his children, Donald “Donnie” Box, Jr. (Gwyn), Robert “Pete” Box (Billie), Debbie McVay, and Betty Lusture (George); brother, Russell Lloyd Box; daughter-in-law, Mary Box; 8 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday and 12-1 pm Friday at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. His Funeral Service will be 1 pm Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Washington Park East.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
