

Don will be remembered as a good friend to some, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, U.S. Air Force Veteran, and public servant.
Don attended IPS 42, and attended Crispus Attucks High School, graduating in 1972.
Don worked several places before obtaining his Journeyman Electrician License and was one of the Electricians wiring the New Indiana Bell Office Skyscraper in downtown Indianapolis. After working his way up to the 12th floor, he felt he’d achieved enough experience and height and started working at the U.S. Post Office.
Don later left the Post Office to serve in the United States Air Force, and was an enlisted man from 1978 thru 1982, During his tenure Don trained at Langley Airforce Base, Langley VA, and served at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan where he worked as an Aviation Technician, maintaining THE Air Force Air Plane Flee. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Don received an Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Ribbon, and achieved the Air Force Rank of Sargent First Class.
Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, Don returned to work at the U.S. Postal Service and served in the Air Force Reserve at Grissom Air Force Base, Grissom, IN.
In 1987, Don married Terri Peacher, and together they built a family rooted in God and love. Don was the proud father of two children, Sienne Nikole Ransom and Don Rey Ransom Jr. He went on to retire from the United States Postal Service after 37 1/2 years of dedicated service.
Don was an avid sportsman, participating in sports at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, on Postal Service Leagues, and private leagues in Basketball, Bowling, a Referee for the Catholic Youth Organization, running in the Indy 500 Mini Marathan, Tennis, and coaching his two children in Basketball at St. Monica Catholic Church
Don Rey Ransom, Sr. is survived by his wife, Terri Peacher-Ransom, daughter Sienne Nikole Ransom, son Don Rey Ransom Jr. (partner Valerie Delgado) and grandson Don Rey Ransom III; brother, Vernon L. Ransom Jr. (Cynthia); sisters, Yvette Ransom Porter (Greg) and Lisa Ransom Williams (Robert).
His life was marked by commitment to God and family, service to country, and dedication to his work, and he will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
