

Donald Lee Whittaker, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at home on October 22, 2024. He was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana to Nellie and James Whittaker on May 13, 1944. He attended IPS #76 and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and the US Air Force where he proudly served his country.
After completing his military service, Donald was an electrician by trade, where he worked at the following companies: DALCO Electric, Barth Electrics, IU Hospital, and Link Belt. After this he decided to start his own electrical business, which he owned and operated for over 25 years.
Donald was an avid Nascar and a huge Pacer fan. He enjoyed going to car show and a vintage car enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a very funny person, whose laughter you would never forget.
Donald was a proud and faithful member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, on the men’s association committee, singing in choir, as well as the part of the building maintenance team. He would help others in need in the church community and outside as well.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, siblings Betty, Ruthanne, Larry, Frances, and Sue. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, as well as an extensive list of extended family and friends.
Services for Donald will take place at Crown Hill Funeral Home, located at 700 W 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205 on Friday, November 8, 2024. His remains will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
