Don’el was the youngest of three boys until he was about 10 years old when he was afforded the opportunity to become a big brother himself. Don’el loved being a big brother to all of his little brothers and sisters. Being a positive role model and mentor were both great attributes. Showing all who he encountered what a caring young man is.
Don’el dedicated his life to Christ at the age of 8 years old at Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church. As a member of Emmanuel, he participated in the youth choir, Sunday school and usher board. As Don’el grew older he understood the importance of hard work. He attended Indianapolis Public school 64 for elementary and Frederick Douglass School 19 for middle school. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 2006 where he was involved in performing arts and hosting duties of Pep Rallies and other extracurricular activities. During his high school years Don’el kept a job and had many friends. Those close to him could always depend on Don’el to offer a good joke or an unusual piece of knowledge or information.
Don’el had a way with words and expressed himself through music. Don’el became a part of the local rap group named IND Certified. Through his adult years Don’el would still put pen to pad and write out his rhymes.
Don’el always knew he wanted a family. Little did he know he would meet the love of his life Arlene M. Lynch when he was only 8 years old and made it his mission to create the family that was ever so important to him. After briefly dating in high school which included a trip to the Jr. Prom, Don’el and Arlene reconnected at 20 years old and were inseparable ever since. Don’el and Arlene traveled the world together.
Don’el and Arlene were united in holy matrimony on August 16, 2014. Through this union they welcomed three handsome boys Donovan Michael Dean, Darion Alexander Dean, and Dylan Avery Dean Lynch, affectionately known as the Lynch Mobb. Don’el loved his children and was a very active father. He made it a point to teach his sons what it means to work hard and be the head of a household while respecting their queen. Don’el was the epitome of a family man, he enjoyed hosting his loved ones in his family home and always kicked things off with a touching toast. You could always count on Don’el to make your birthday special with his “who’s birthday is it” chant.
Don’el was employed for many years with Coca Cola Consolidated where he often placed a smile on those who came into contact with him. Don’el loved people and was kind to anyone that he met.
Don’el was preceded in death by his brother Eric Boyd, grandfather William Brown, grandmother Doris Lynch, grandmother Lillian Eaton, Great Grandmother Cora Beasley, Grandfather Colie L. Lynch Sr. and Aunt Veronica M. Lynch, and great grandmother Gertrude Anderson.
