Dorothea Magdalene Schneider

86, of Indianapolis. Departed this life Thursday, December 23, 2010. She was born January 25, 1924 in Indianapolis to Michael Albert and Dorothea M. (Briggs) Raftery. Dorothea worked as a Stewardess for TWA at the dawn of commercial air travel. As the mother of a growing family she worked as a secretary for Community and St. Vincent Hospitals for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Louis O’Reilly Schneider; children (spouses), Louis Michael Indy (Tomoko Tetsuka) Schneider, Mark (Dawn Girardin) Schneider, Linda (Thomas) Farrell, Chris (Magdalena Beltran) Schneider, Debra (Curtis) Beck, Esther Diane (Michael) Stroh, Matthew Schneider, Susan (Mario) Lopez and Stephanie (Andy) Bowers; brother, Michael Raftery; sisters, Carolyn Shelby, Ruth Hock, and Peggy Havelin; grandchildren, Sarah Schneider and Jay Sayles; Aubrey and Effie Motoyama, Naryana and Laxmi Schneider; Walker, Evan, and Maura Farrell; Alan, Jazmin, Vanessa and Lucero Schneider; Riley, Amelia and Logan Beck; Ella and Guthrie Stroh; Nathan and Mackenzie Schneider; Alex, Lucia, and Emilio Lopez; and Cain and Corbin Bowers; great-grandchildren, Seth and Navada Sayles. Dorothea was preceded in death by her sisters, Patty Bailey and Betty Foley. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 PM Tuesday, December 28th at the Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, December 29th, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, celebrant Rev. David Lawler.
