Ed was a graduate of Washington High School and a sales representative for 46 years working for Fred Beck Co., National Wine & Spirits, and Olinger.
Ed is survived by his wife, Julie Richardson; children, Rick (Jill) Porten, Lisa White, Jennifer (Michael) Popp and Jonathon (Haley) Thomas; sisters, Mary Powers, Jeanne Jett, and Rosie Griffin; brothers, Dave and Nick Porten; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Steve Porten; sister, Delores Boston and brother, Joe Porten.
A visitation for Ed will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care-Rockville West, 5791 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Ed will be laid to rest in West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W 21st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46234.
