67. Edward was preceded in death by his sisters, Bernice Shafffer-Oatts, Mary

Shaffer, and Emma Jean Shaffer-Williams; and brothers, Howard Shaffer, Manson

Shaffer, Harrison Shaffer, Sr., and George Shaffer.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, “Rita”; sister, Briddie

Johnson; daughters, Angelita (Angel) Shaffer and Luchauna Barbour (Derrick);

sons, John Boozer, Jr., James Boozer (Valerie), Davide Boozer (Kandas), and

Darnell Birdsong, Sr. Edward loved and cherished his grandchildren, Brandi,

Tiandrea, Taylor, Mercedes, James, Jr., Derrick, Jr., Adesha, Justin, David, Jr.,

Omni, Jada, and A’nya. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Services will be held Saturday July 21, 2012 at New Life Community Church of Truth 6345 Mass. Ave. at 12:00 p.m. Calling from 10:00 a.m. Burial: Washington Park North Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home.
