Effie May Pruitt

Effie May (Wheeler) Pruitt, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away June 18, 2021. She was born in Liberty, Kentucky the daughter of the late Osbin and Mattie (Vaught) Wheeler. She was a homemaker. Effie was preceded in death by her parents, children, Terry Hawkins and Marvin Pruitt and her brother Junior Wheeler.

Effie is survived by her husband, William Michael Pruitt, daughters, Vivian Dishman, Melissa Tames, Shirley Russell and Laura Wise; she is also survived by her sister, Brenda Moore, brothers, Richard Wheeler and Noel Wheeler; grandchildren, Dustin, Duke, Alexis Canter, Joe Wise, Jr., Michael Pruitt, Savanna Pruitt, Dylan Sizemore, Dalton Pruitt, Jimmy Brummett, Benjamin Marriott, Levi Dishman, Colleen Dishman, Kelsey Adkins, Trevor Adkins, Mason Tames, Nevaeh Pruitt and Nijel Pruitt; great-grandchildren, Braylon, Rylee, Lexii, Rodney and Maddie.

A Celebration of Effie's Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
