Eleanor Ann (Haley) Stewart

Eleanor Ann (Haley) Stewart, age 88, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023. Eleanor was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Pauline (McAtee) Haley and Marvin A. Haley. She is also preceded in passing by her husband of 57 years David F. Stewart and her sister, Patty Espich. Eleanor was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy and past member of St. Philip Neri, Holy Spirit, and attended St. Simon the Apostle parishes. Her faith remained strong throughout her life and she was always active in the church. In her younger years she worked as a legal secretary at Roberts and Ryder before working as a men's clothing representative at Lazarus and Macy's. She always loved shopping and finding the good sales. She was blessed to be able to then focus on raising her children as a homemaker as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also always close with her sisters even though they were never discovered they always provided friends and family with beautiful singing as a trio. She also enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, playing cards, and traveling to Florida where she and her husband resided for 12 years. Eleanor is survived by her children, Mary Kay Curran (Chad Whitaker), Joannie Newby (Scott), Mike Stewart (Janet), and Nancy Herber (Mike); sister, Kay Deck (Charlie); grandchildren, Aidan Curran, Katie Curran, Megan Curran, Molly Curran, Haley Newby, Jack Newby, Tyler Newby, Matthew Stewart, Mitchell Stewart, Mallory Stewart, Lucy Henn, and Grace Henn; 4 great grandchildren and one one the way; nephew, Andy Deck; and niece, Julie Thomas. Visitation for Eleanor will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46236, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
