

Elizabeth Adedokun, a beacon of compassion and resilience, was born on November 8, 1957, in the coal city of Enugu, Nigeria. She lived and grew up in Ibadan. She travelled around Nigeria, also visited Rome, London, Paris, Greece, America, and other places home and abroad. She attended primary school in Enugu, then Renascent High School, Ibadan and finally Technical College, Oyo. She was the crowned queen in Technical College, Oyo in 1980.
Elizabeth is survived by her children; Yewande Abegunrin, Temitayo Olaifa, Adetokunbo Lufadeju and Oluwafemi Adekolure, her son-in-laws and grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, childhood friends, schoolmates, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Collins Akintoye Adedokun.
From a young age, she exhibited a passion for buying and selling, catering and catering services, channeling her energies towards creating a positive outlook in every piece of jewelry or fashion item she sold, and every meal that she served was made with love.
Elizabeth worked; as a caterer in hotels, ran a restaurant, was branded by Maggi, and catered for corporate and retail clients. Throughout her esteemed careers in retail trade, in catering, and in maintenance while in the US, Elizabeth dedicated herself towards the success and growth of every business and job she handled.
In Nigeria, she attended St. John’s Anglican Church where she was a chorister and member of the Good Women. She attended Lakeview Church on Beach Way Drive in Indianapolis.
Beyond her professional achievements, Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who crossed her path. She loved to celebrate others, attend parties and she was vibrant, beautiful and full of life.
She enjoyed singing and travelling. She was a blessing to others by reaching out and talking to them. She was good at cleaning and prepared the best moin-moin, efo riro and jollof rice in the world! She was incredibly accommodating and always ready to give a 2nd chance to others. Her big heart was apparent to all! Whether it was being a supportive friend, a go-to person, or lending a listening ear to those in need, she embodied the spirit of selflessness and empathy.
Elizabeth will be remembered for saying “don’t pay evil for evil,” “be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove,” and “be your brother’s keeper.”
Elizabeth’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us to be agents of positive change in our everyday lives and to honor her memory by continuing the work she held dear.

Elizabeth, now a resident of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the age of 67.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Family Funeral Care-Rockville West, 5791 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Brownsburg Cemetery, Brownsburg, Indiana 46112.
