

Elizabeth (Liz) Moss Benberry was born in Lafayette, Kentucky to the late Edward Moss and Juanita Turnley Moss February 24, 1942. She moved to Indianapolis at an early age and attended IPS school 26 in grade school and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1960. She joined St. John Baptist Church as a child and later joined Forest Manor United Methodist Church. She worked at the US Army Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison after graduation. It was here that she met the love of her life, Charles Leon Benberry. They were married June 23, 1962 and the union lasted until Charles passed away in January 2013. Their union produced two sons, Charles Dwayne, and Michael Leon. Liz was totally dedicated to her family and made it her life long passion to be the best wife and mother she could.
While married Liz enjoyed traveling. Her and Charles took many cruises and drove all over the US visiting different sites. She really enjoyed visiting the casinos. They would stay out all night gambling and having fun. She also enjoyed playing cards. First she played Pitty Pat as a younger girl, then Spades, and then Bid Whist. She was even known to do a little trash talking.
Liz departed this life on March 16, 2022. Liz is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Dwayne (Lisa), Michael Leon (Keya), and grandchildren Chelsea, Charles Dwayne Jr., Tyler, and Malik. She leaves a multitude of friends and family to mourn her passing.
