

Elizabeth Rose Harmon Jamerson, lovingly known as “MD” by family and friends and affectionately called “Emah Elizabeth” within her faith community, peacefully departed this life on May 3, 2026, at the age of 39+.
She was born on April 24, 1939, in Washington, Indiana and was a resident of Louisville, Kentucky at the time of her passing.
Elizabeth was a woman of deep faith, wisdom, compassion, and service. She dedicated her life to uplifting others through ministry, community involvement, education, family, and friendship.
A proud graduate of Washington High School in Washington, IN. She continued her educational journey by attending Livingstone College (HBCU), Indiana University and later earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Oakland City University.
Elizabeth retired from Navistar International/International Harvester after years of dedicated employment where she was a proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW). She was active in the International Harvester Women’s Bowling League and served as President of the Flamingo Social and Charitable Club of Indianapolis, where she built lifelong friendships and touched many lives through service and fellowship.
A gifted communicator and servant-hearted woman, Elizabeth also served as a certified sign language interpreter, helping bridge communication and bring inclusion to many.
Her commitment to ministry extended through Light of the World Christian Church Prison Ministry Prayer Team and as a former member of Eastern Star Church.
Elizabeth was a founding and faithful member of Spirit and Truth Worshippers of Renewed Covenant Assembly, where she was passionately known and cherished as “Emah Elizabeth.” Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she poured wisdom, encouragement, and prayer into countless individuals throughout the years.
She was also a substitute teacher and worked at Auntie Mame’s Childcare Service, where she nurtured and cared for children with patience, warmth, and motherly love.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Elgin Harmon and Esther L. Harmon (Johnson); her sisters Carolyn (Edgar) Bryant and Margaret Scott; and her brothers Charles “Bud” Harmon and Ronald (Karen) Harmon.
Through her marriage with Thomas L. Jamerson Sr., she leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Thomas L. “TJ” Jamerson II (Shawn), John A. Jamerson (Denise), and Julynn E. Jamerson-Lyles.
She was a devoted grandmother to Dana Waff Jr., Jaela Waff, DeAnthony Jamerson, Jayson Jamerson, Ashlee Jamerson, Natalee Jamerson, and “Donesha (Ryan) Sangster”.
Her legacy continues through her treasured great-grandchildren: Zaniyah Jamerson, Ashtyn Bell-Jamerson, Julez Jamerson, Dream Jamerson, Dallas Jamerson, “Ryan Sangster Jr., and Rylee Sangster”.
Elizabeth also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, spiritual children, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love, prayers, wisdom, and presence.
Her life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, compassion, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
