Betty was the second daughter born to Dorothy (Webb) and Edwin Hoffman on June 5, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She married Fred Steuber on June 21, 1964, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianapolis and was able to celebrate 59 years of a blessed marriage. Betty attended Indianapolis Business School but later decided that her true calling was being committed to raising their three children.
Betty enjoyed traveling, entertaining family and friends and acquiring keepsakes. Due to Fred’s career, she was able to live in many different places reaching all the way from London, England to Kane’ohe Hawaii. Everyone who knew her was never surprised when she would care for an abandoned or injured animal.
She was a dedicated wife and mother who was known best for making sure everyone was comfortable and cared for in her presence. She was devoted to her Christian faith, which guided her to be an exceptional, giving, and loving person.
She is survived by her husband Fred, her sister Joan Jarcik, children Fred E, Brian, and LuAnne Riddle and her six beloved grandchildren whom she adored.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery on Thursday, February 1, 2024. There will be a welcome and remembrance social with a lunch buffet from 12-2pm, a service at 2 followed by interment with reception afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made in her memory to Lutheran Child and Family Services.
