

Elder Elmer Noble Gary, Sr. was born on November 08, 1944, in Canton, Mississippi to the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Gary, Sr. He was the fourth of eight children. He began his life in Canton, Mississippi later residing in Jackson, Mississippi where he attended Lanier High School.
Elder Gary accepted Christ as his personal Savior at and early age and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was baptized.
Elder Gary, affectionally know as “Noble”, enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite meals was fried catfish. He was known to have a sense of humor and loved to joke around.
Elder Gary united with Ambassador Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana where he served until his health began to decline, under the leadership of Pastor Daryl Davis. Elder Gary will be missed by many here on earth, but “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Even though his health began to decline he continued to love God. Elder Gary fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith until that day the Lord saw fit to call him home. Elder Gary departed this life Friday, March 13, 2026, in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Elder Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Alma Lee Gary, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Gary, daughters Velma Sims, Myrtis Gary, Shawanda Gary, brothers Thomas Gary, Jr., Willie Gary, sisters Juanita Morris and Sandra Easley; step-brothers Albert Young and Kin Young, step-sisters, Sallie Anderson, Rachel Seaton, Rosa Wren, Renia Pauling, Minnie Allen, Helen Booth and Mable Mayfield.
Elder Gary leaves to cherish his memory one son, Elmer Noble Gary, Jr. (India) of Fishers, Indiana; one stepdaughter Katrina Henton of Indianapolis, Indiana; one stepson Ronald Henton, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters Annie Rollins, of Toledo, Ohio, Yvonne Ball of Cleveland, Ohio and one brother Kenneth Gary (Deirdre) of Indianapolis, Indiana.
A visitation for Elder Gary will be held on Friday, March 27th from 10:00AM-12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
