In every life, God sends a special gift—an angel to cherish. Engra Alice Reid Castiglione, born on August 26, 1952, was such a blessing. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Robert and Adlaid Reid, Engra peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Engra attended public schools in Indianapolis and later studied at Huntington College. She dedicated 40 years of service to the Indiana Department of Health, where she worked as a supervisor in the Lab Support Containers area.
On August 14, 1976, Engra married Ronald Castiglione. From this union, they were blessed with a son, Nicholas.
A baptized believer in Jesus Christ, Engra was a faithful member of Forest Manor United Methodist Church. She was a woman of deep faith, known for her love, compassion, and kindness toward others. As a devoted wife, she cared tirelessly for her husband during his illness until his death. As a loving daughter, she was wholly dedicated to her mother, Adlaid, especially in her later years. Upon retirement, Engra expressed her desire to devote her time to caring for her mother—a promise she faithfully fulfilled.
Engra leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Nicholas Castiglione; her beloved “granddog”, Bru-Bru; her cherished mother, Adlaid Reid; her dear brothers, Rodney Reid (Debra) and Algernon Reid (Crystal); her best friend and sister in heart, Kim Farris; her Brother-in-law, Richard Castiglione; her aunts, Merlyn Edwards and Mary Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
