Evelyn L. Hannon

94, of Indianapolis, departed this life, Tuesday, November 4, 2014. She was born January 2, 1920 in Leavenworth, KS to the late J. Walter and Helen (Worner) Hannon. Evelyn was a graduate of St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Ladywood School and St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN in 1941. She was a pioneer of sorts as a woman who successfully broke into the banking industry in Indianapolis. She was intelligent, influential and dedicated as an executive at American Fletcher National Bank for many years. She was devoted to the Catholic Church and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Evelyn enjoyed supporting youth and was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Alumnae Club in Indianapolis. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved brother, John W. Hannon. She is survived by a host of grateful friends. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, November 10th at Christ the King Catholic Church with calling there beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lansing, KS. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Bishop Chatard High School, Christ the King Catholic Church or to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
