

79, of Shelby County entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 21, 2016. He was the first child born to Fred and Earlene Bridgewater on February 15, 1937.
He was a graduate of Scottsburg High School, received his BA from Hanover College and his M. Div. from Denver Baptist Theological Seminary. He was employed in quality control by several pharmaceutical companies in Indiana, was pastor of First Baptist Church in Del Norte, CO, and taught science at the middle and high school levels until his retirement in 2006 from Northwestern Consolidated Schools of Shelby County.
He served for twenty years in the Indiana Army National Guard, retiring in 1975.
He was married to his late wife Lucy Ann (Pfendler) for 53 years, and is survived by his children, Christy (Steve) Day, Robert (Denise) Bridgewater, and Gail (David) Kinney; grandchildren, Dustin (Alissa) Medina, Courtney Kinslow, Rachel and Danielle Kinney, Katie and Bo Bridgewater; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Barrett Medina and Noah Kinslow; brothers, Dan and David Bridgewater and sisters, Janet Shepherd and Carol Allen.
He was a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Little and Sons Stop Eleven Chapel from 4-7 pm on Thursday, February 25th. Funeral services will be held at Burge Baptist Church on Friday, February 26th at 11:00 am with calling there beginning at 10:00 am. Burial follows at Pleasant View Cemetery.
