Freddie Ray Whitfield

FREDDIE RAY WHITFIELD was born July 5, 1947 to John F. Whitfield, Sr. and Roberta Whitfield in Fremont, North Carolina. He received his education through the Fremont School system and graduated from Norwayne High School. After high school FREDDIE was enlisted into the US Army on May 30, 1967. While stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky he met the love of his life, Georgia Moorman. After serving his country for 24 years, FREDDIE received an Honorable discharge on May 30, 1991. FREDDIE departed his life on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Roudebush VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Whitfield, Sr., Roberta Whitfield, brothers George Whitfield, John Whitfield, Jr., sister Dorothy Richardson and daughter Tanya Whitfield. FREDDIE was an awesome father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Terra Whitfield; one adopted daughter, Michelle Prather; five grandchildren, Quierra (M. Fox) Fox, Kyra Whitfield, Torriean Kimble, Miracle Miller and Samaria Miller; five great-grandchildren, Josslyn Payne, Jaieon Payne, Ja'Nylia Fox, Jamorion Baker and Jayce Baker; two brothers, Theolise (Caroline) Whitfield, Carl (Barbara) Whitfield; three sisters, Mary Stokes, Linda Whitfield and Polly Whitfield; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving relatives and friends.
