Gene Douglas Smith, 57, of Indianapolis passed away at Community East Hospital on September 4th, 2023. Gene was born November 9th, 1965 to parents James C. Smith and Irene (Whit) Smith in Hamilton County.
Gene is survived by his sons, Jackson Ray Grace Smith and Carlos Jose Goodpaster; daughters, Chelsea Ann Neace and Brianna Jewell Neace; siblings, Samuel Smith, James Walter Smith, Michael Ray Smith, and Brenda Smith; former spouse, Dotty Goodpaster; grandchildren, Carlos and Sophia Jose Goodpaster; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene Smith and sisters Debbie Lynn Bryan, Donna Enamnat, and Sheila Miller.
