

George H. Sullivan, 96, Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday August 22, 2024. He was born on July 26,1928 in Lafayette, IN to Robert M. and Edith C. Sullivan. He graduated from Monon High School in 1946 and Purdue University (BS in Electrical Engineering) in 1956. George met Patsy Charlotte Care at Purdue and they were wed on June 16, 1956 in Baltimore MD.
Between high school and college, George served in the U.S. Navy on assignment to the USS Yazoo.
After a long career at Allison Gas Turbine, George retired in 1988. In retirement, George and Patsy served at more than a dozen locations around the country with Builders For Christ, a volunteer organization that constructs Lutheran churches. George was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Carmel IN.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Robert Sullivan, sister Clara Spidel, infant grandson Michael Gleitz and infant great-granddaughter Emily Sullivan. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Patsy, brother William Sullivan of Lafayette IN, son Rick Sullivan of Pickerington OH and daughter Bonnie Gleitz (Dale) of Fort Worth TX. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Brown (Kevin) of Sunbury OH, Bryan Sullivan of Columbus OH, Kevin Sullivan (Taylor) of Powell OH, Stephen Gleitz (Brittany) of North Richland Hills TX, Troy Sullivan of Hilliard OH, Brandon Gleitz of Fort Worth TX, Sean Sullivan of Reynoldsburg OH, and 5 great-grandchildren: Finlee, Layken, Myla and Austen Brown and Madison Sullivan.
Visitation and services will be on Tuesday September 3rd at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, with visitation from 11-1PM and funeral services at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1484 W. Main Street, Carmel IN 46032.
