Gerald Jaranilla Guieb Sr

Gerald (Jerry) 83, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Brownsburg,

Indiana. He was born on August 25, 1941 in Batangas, Philippines to Pablo and

Angela (Jaranilla) Guieb, who preceded him in death.

As a young child in the Philippines he used to climb the banana trees for the

best bananas he'd ever eaten. He enjoyed helping his parents with gardening

and their pet monkey. He graduated from St. Bridget’s College, Batangas,

Philippines in 1958. In the summer of 1962 he started his journey by boat from

the Philippines to the United States, where he’s resided since.

Jerry spent many years as a chef and bartender at many country clubs and

restaurants, including in Lake Tahoe, Chicago and in Indianapolis. He had the

pleasure of meeting Louis Armstrong at one of the country clubs he worked

at. Jerry loved music with Johnny Mathis, Paul Anka and Elvis as some of his

favorites. He also loved fishing and playing BINGO. As a young man he enjoyed

street racing with his ‘68 Charger and still talked about that up until his death.

Jerry married Barbara Flores in 1968 and they later divorced in 1987. They had

three children together; Gerald J. Guieb, Jr. (Kimberleah), Christopher Guieb

who died at birth, and Margaret Guieb.

He later went on to marry Ronda Lindsey who preceded him in death.

Jerry had five grandchildren whom he loved spending time with; Jessica

(Adam) Snider, Meghan (Kyle) Pedigo, Joshua (MaKenzie) Guieb, Madeline

Guieb and Justin (Marissa) Guieb. He also was the proud great grandpa to

Sadie & Kennedy Snider, Olivia & Ava Pedigo, Oliver, Theodore, Rowan and

Everly Guieb.

Along with his children and grandchildren Jerry also had his brothers, Frank,

Freddie and Richard. He was preceded in death by his brothers David,

Edward, Paul and Daniel. He’s also survived by many cousins, nieces and

nephews.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
