

At an early age, Glenda accepted Christ as her Personal Savior at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 1966 graduate of Crispus Attucks High School and married the love of her life, Carl Black Sr., in 1968.
Glenda was very sociable and always had a smile for everyone she met. She served on numerous PTO boards at her sons’ school and on the NCAAA, Inc. board until her passing. Glenda was employed by USPS for,19 years and later retired from Chase Bank as a Customer Service Representative in 2010. She was an avid reader of books, talented seamstress/pattern maker, and designer of custom beaded jewelry.
Glenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Earl Stevens.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Sr; sons Carl Jr. and Corey; sisters Effie (Curtis) Stevens and Sharon (Leonard) Ferguson, in addition to 6 grandchildren as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
