Gregory Alan Watts

Gregory Alan Watts, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Greg was born June 1, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Edward Watts, Jr. and Jean Watts.

Greg retired from the Roudebush VA Medical Center as a microbiologist in 2017 after 45 years of service. Greg graduated from DePauw University before earning a degree in Microbiology from I.U. Bloomington. He was a faithful member of St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Church where he sang in the choir and was also a Reader.

Greg is survived by his wife of 38 years: Alicia Watts, daughter: Viola Marie Statzer, sisters: Jeanine (Curt) DeLashmit and Brenda (Steve) Welker, grandchildren: Gregory McHugh, Jr., Tristen Mae Cooley, Justin McHugh, CJ and Bella Burchfield, and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Rodney Watts.

A visitation for Greg will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Church, 1417 Blaine Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46221. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Church.

Greg will be laid to rest in Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N Holt Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.
