I knew Hal for a little over 15 years, and I believe during that time we became best friends or a least good friends.  I would have done anything for Hal, and I believe he would have done the same for me.  People teased Hal about being frugal, but I never saw that in Hal. One of the first times Hal and I played at the golf course near Franklin we stopped at a restaurant for a blue plate special, and he insisted on buying my lunch as he said he played free and I had to pay.  Another time Judy and I ordered marble coffee and end tables from Macey's but we had to pick them up at Lafayette Square, Hal offered to drive his truck there to get the tables and refused to accept gas money when his truck only got 8 miles to the gallon.

Dear Kay, Ed, Belinda, Graham, and Andrew:

I was deeply sadden to hear about the loss of your loved one.  The first time I met Hal was right after Ed was born.  You both were so happy - new parents.  Over the years, my cousin Kay and I have shared stories about our families.  You could always tell that Hal and Kay enjoyed life and had fun doing things together and as a family. They  had good friends, many card games, and great trips to Florida and Vegas.  Some great memories.

Kay and family, so sorry to hear of Hal's passing. I remember Hal as yardmaster at Avon back in the 70's. I loved his dry sense of humor and the fact that nothing ever upset him that much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
