

Mr. Harris Charles Holland (Harry) was the second child born to the late John Henry Holland and Zera Eva Nixon Holland on July 14, 1940, he took his first breath in Americus, Georgia. The family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in May 1947.
Harris was united in Holy Matrimony in 1959 to the late Beverly Ann Conn-Holland and God blessed this union with four loving sons.
Harris was blessed with 2 more biological daughters, one son and several bonus daughters with other companions.
Harris’s attended Crispus Attucks High School. After, completing his formal education, he was employed and worked for General Motors and retired after 30 years of services.
Harris acknowledged his belief in God in 1996 and was baptized at Fall Creek Parkway Church of Christ. During his spiritual formation he became an avid reader of Philosophy, Religion, the Bible, and American History.
Harris was a “Father figure and a fixer” firm, opinionated and direct.
Harris in 1980’s created and developed Family Insight, which was a vehicle to bring our immediate and extend families together that would create everlasting bonds of our history to share and pass on to the next generation through celebrations that would honor the Holland-Nixon tradition.
Harris, in latter life enjoyed the love, affection, care and grace he received from the mother of his children, children, life partner, bonus children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Especially, when we all brought him sweet potatoes pies, greens, ice cream (vanilla), “Kool Blue Cigarettes and his favor beverage bottle of Pepsi”.
“Harry”, as he was affectionately called, will be missed by many that loved and knew him, “his present was far above rubies”.
Harris lived a full life, and he did it he’s way unapologetic. On Friday, September 2, 2022, took his last breath. Our Lord mercifully called his servant to rest after living, laughing, and loving life at the age of eighty-two-years, one month and nineteen days.
Harris’s passing leaves a legacy of love to his cherished sons, Douglas preceded him in death, Dwight, Aronzo (Rochelle), Ricky and La Darryl, daughters, Stephanie, Tampatha, sisters, Betty, Drewnell, and Ardranda; brothers, Jessie, and John E; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family members and friends who lives he touched.
