

Harry Edward Hineman, 77 years old, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Harry was born June 18, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Harry and Lois M. Hineman (Claytor). Harry is survived by his children: Vicktress “Viki” Stamps, Ruth “Tiger” (Spouse: Tony) Patterson and Ed (Spouse: Amy) Hineman, 1 Niece, 2 Nephews, 13 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife: Ruthelene Victoria Schwartz Hineman, his daughter: Patrissa “Trissi” Hineman, brother: James C. Hineman and two grandchildren: Austin Maynard and Kirstin Burton.
Harry was an intelligent man that enjoyed working as a Computer Programmer Analysist at Reilley Industries from November 1968 until retirement in February 2004. He would enjoy the occasional card game with his co-workers during their lunch breaks and teach us kids any new card games he learned at work. In his college years (Indiana University and Normal College) he coached the Diving team at YMCA Indianapolis. After Harry courted Ruthelene for six weeks they eloped to be married in Campbell, Tennessee on August 21, 1965 because Harry did not want to wait until is 21st birthday. He then would assist Ruthelene with coaching gymnastic classes/teams when he was not attending college classes or work.
Harry enjoyed a range of music such as Classical, Soft Country, Polka and Rock N Roll with the Eagles as his favorite rock band. When Harry relaxed at home he enjoyed watching TV shows with Ruthelene and their children. Some of his favorite TV shows were Bonanza, The Lone Ranger, Perry Mason, Matlock and Blue Bloods. His favorite actor/actress was John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe.
Harry was a fun-loving and hard-working family man that shared his love and values with those around him. He taught his children how to take Pride in themselves such in the way they lived and worked. Harry also became known as “Poppy” when he first became a Grandfather in 1984. He loved and enjoyed any time he had to spend with his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. They ultimately brought joy and solace to him after the loss of his wife.
The funeral for Harry will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Family Funeral Care – Rockville Road. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until time of Services beginning at 12:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens.
