Celebrating the Life of Mr. Harvey L Ballard

Mr. Harvey Lincoln Ballard, the son of the late Harvey Bacon and Ruby J Ballard-Dulin was born March 25th, 1956 in Indianapolis, IN.

Harvey knew the Lord attending Grace Apostolic Church faithfully up until his health no longer allowed him to, he always professed his love for the Lord.

Harvey was united in Holy Matrimony to Catherine Ballard in 1980 and to that union five children were born. Harvey was preceded in death by her.

In 2009 Harvey was united in Holy Matrimony to Paula Ballard and to their union one child was born. Together they continued to build a strong and loving family.

Harvey received his education through the Indianapolis Public School System. Harvey was employed at Wessel’s Company as a welder for several years before his illness forced him into early retirement. Harvey was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle, and friend who enjoyed being in the company of family. He was always willing to help his family and friends, when needed and you better be ready when he got to you.

Harvey enjoyed basketball, especially when Erica and Makayla were playing. He was a big fan of the Patriots football team, he enjoyed watching his western tv shows, listening to music, riding his bike before his legs got to weak, and telling everyone else what to do. This was the bossy Big Harvey we all knew.

On Sunday morning, June 27, 2021, Harvey went home to be with the Lord. The Lord blessed us to be able to be a part of his life that spanned for 65 years, 4 months. Harvey will be greeted at the gates with open arms by his parents, mother Ruby J Ballard-Dulin and father, Harvey Bacon, sister Lisa Ballard, brother Anthony Oakley-Ballard, four sons, Anthony Ballard, Eric Lewis Ballard, Bryant Ballard, and Kevin Ballard.

Harvey leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and dedicated wife Paula Ballard, five children, Tiffany Ballard, Darnell Ballard, Harvey Lewis, Makayla Ballard, Erica Ballard, (stepson’s Dulani Ward and Antonio Ballard) three brothers, Damon Ballard (Dawn), Raymond Ballard, Herman Johnson, five sisters, Darla Lewis (Walter Sr), Barbara Randolph (Mark), Teresa Ballard, Tammie Bacon, Sherry Tunstall,( Linda Reid and Cheryl Dulin step-sister’s). Thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral service Saturday, July 10, 2021, 12pm Friendship MBC, 1301 Goodlet Ave. Family will receive friends 10am until time of service. Interment Washington Park North.
