Mrs. Helen G. McBrady, daughter of the late Willie and Carrie Thompson was born January 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Helen received her education in the Indianapolis Public School System. She later received her Nursing Degree.
Helen professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Eastside New hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a current member. She was united in Matrimony to the Late Phillip McBrady until his passing in 2017.
Helen was a Charter member of the Eastside New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Being one of the first children to attend the church her Father built and was currently on the Mothers Board until her health began to fail. Helen loved her career as a Nurse and enjoyed expressing her expertise in the field.
Helen loved God, her husband, children and family Helen was known for her ability to socialize with anyone. She never met a stranger, she loved sharing, caring and helping others. Helen was affectionately known by her family as Sadie and as” Hot Dog “to her friends in her younger years. Helen always enjoyed being fashionable and wearing stylish clothing and jewelry, her eyelashes were high priority in her dress code. Helen enjoyed shopping and decorating her home with unique items. Most of all she enjoyed family gatherings and looking beautiful. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Helen McBrady departed this life on Sunday, June 19th, 2022. Her parents, husband and brother Willie Thompson Jr., sisters Mary White, Ethel Thompson, Janet O’ Reese, Roxie Johnson preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Burt Dunn, (Hollie), Stephen Dunn (Lola), Melvin Davis (Merriam), Ralston Davis, Anthony Davis (Rosie), Phillip McBrady Jr. daughters Roxie Davis, Lisa Gibson (Jemal). sisters, Rose Willis, Sandra Spearman, Carrie Keyes, Artist Montgomery, brothers Stephen Thompson, Randall Thompson, David Thompson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
