Helen Ann Ritter, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Franciscan Hospice House surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Indianapolis to the late Henry and Clara (Mayer) Ritter. She was preceded in death by her older siblings Joe Ritter and Romilda Bertram.

Helen is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Neuman, Therese Starks, and Mary Weingardt. Helen was a devoted Aunt to four generations. Those 155 nieces and nephews will miss her loving, cheerful presence. A member of the Sacred Heart Class of 1957, Helen touched the lives of her church community, social groups, and neighbors. Even in her final days, Helen's sweet smile affected all those who cared for her. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., Indianapolis, IN 46225. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

So sorry for your family's lose. Spike and I are in Florida and heard the news. I will always remember her beautiful smile when the Kidwells and the Starks got together for Baptisms and First Communions. Our prayers are with all of you. Love, Spike and Nancy.

Biography

Helen Ann Ritter

Born Sept 13, 1938 to Henry and Clara (Mayer) Ritter.

Helen was the youngest of 6 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two siblings Joe Ritter and Romilda Bertram.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Dorthy Neuman, Therese Starks and Mary Weingardt.

She was Aunt, Great Aunt, Great-Great Aunt, and Great-Great-Great Aunt to 155 nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Parish for 50 years where her Grandparents were founding members of Sacred Heart Church. She was a devoted daughter, living with her mother Clara, until Clara's passing in 1988.

She was baptized, made her First Communion, and Confirmation at Sacred Heart Church.

Helen attended Sacred Heart Grade School and High School, Kindergarten thru High School Graduation. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Class of 1957.

She played saxophone in the High School Pep, Concert and Marching Band.

She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Choir and the Pep Club.

She loved to attend the Sacred Heart Football games for many years.

Helen left this world on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House. She was 79 years old.

On April 12, 2018, we celebrated Helen's Life with a funeral mass at Sacred Heart, the church that Helen, her parents, her siblings, and 155 nieces and nephews celebrated so many family Baptisms, First Communions, Weddings and Funerals.

Helen will be missed by all of her family and friends.
