Henry Thornton Jr. was a man of God and a member of Eastern Star Church. He took pride in all that he did. Loving husband, father, grandfather and overall loving human being. One of a kind smile and laugh. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, going to the casino, bowling and pleasing others. He was a giving man, never selfish. A lot of people can say and will say he was a Super-Hero. He was and is loved by so many. He was a provider for so many. He was not only a server to God, but he was a server to many of his family, friends and peers at the adult day care (Golden Gardens). All that he did was genuine and from the heart. He will be missed by so many.
He never judged and was supportive of those he loved. His life on earth was fulfilled and he would rather have been here for 100 years, but he was at peace with having to go. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ora Lee Thornton, Sr.; sons, Dexter and Hector Thornton and Dale Stigler; brothers, Inell Thornton, Lovell Williams, Tommy William Jr. and Henry Webb; sisters, Josephine Charleston, Flora Mae Felix and Gwendolyn Thornton.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mrs. Johnnie Adams-Thornton; sons, Farnsworth Thornton, Michael Thornton, Christopher Thornton; daughters, Cassandra Thornton, Patansy Maxey, Alisa Gilbert, LaJoyce Bails (Mr. Lee); brothers, Harvey Thornton (Jennifer), Daniel Thornton (Betty), David Thornton; sisters, Joyce Thornton, Tinnie Richmond and Daisy Thornton; 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews, relatives and friends, Mary & Kenny, Patricia & Paul, Sandra McPherson, Michael McPherson, Michael Adams, Julie Cloud & Ruth Stigler.
