Jack Howard Ebbeler, born in Indianapolis, IN, on April 13, 1934. Jack passed away at the age of 86, on January 18, 2021. He was the grandson of the late Gertrude Moon, and the son of Marjorie Ebbeler. Jack married Mary (Dammrich) Ebbeler on June 17, 1955.
He is survived by his children, Dawn (Bob) Fisher, Jack Ebbeler, Jr., and Lori Ebbeler; five grandchildren, Jason Doss, Cody Ebbeler, Scott Ebbeler, Cory Ross, and Alexandra Ross; and great-grandson, Augustine Ross.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary (Dammrich) Ebbeler.
Jack was a graduate of Warren Central High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (English) degree from Indiana University. He served as Captain in the United States Army. Jack’s successful 30-year business career began in 1957, working in Personnel at Eli Lilly and Company. He retired as Director of Public Affairs at Eli Lilly and Company in 1987. Jack received the Sagamore of the Wabash from Indiana’s Governor Orr on June 19, 1987.In retirement, Jack spent most of his time with his Hillcrest Country Club buddies, arranging tee times, groupings, and games for them. An avid golfer, Jack played not only in the United States, but in England and Scotland, as well.
