Mr. Thompson, 85, died May 30, 2013. He was an Army Veteran who served as a paratrooper in the 82nd airborne. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in its transportation, retail sales, and consumer affairs departments before retiring. Mr. Thompson was known by many for his artistic ability as a photographer, calligrapher, and musician. He is survived by a devoted companion Bertha Benmour, sister, Hulda Lou Simpson, three nephews, James T. Thompson, Stephen Simpson, Anthony Simpson, one niece Tina Simpson, and cousins Ralph Thompson and Michael Rodman.
