

Jacqueline Louise Harney was born on February 2, 1962, to the late Rosie B. Murry and William C. Murry in Indianapolis, IN where she resided since birth. She attended grade school at Daniel T. Weir School 71 and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1981, Business Major and was a proud “Tech Titan”, in which everybody knew it!
Jacqueline was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at a young age. She was baptized and
an active member at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, sang in the choir and always lending a helping hand when needed Jacqueline faith was strong as her spirit.
Jacqueline was employed at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 20 years in various departments. She began her career in Food Services and found her passion in the Accounting Department where she completed her career as an Auditor for offsite physician practices.
In 1999 she was employed at Rolls-Royce in various production classifications until appointed UAW Quality Representative for UAW 933. This position allowed her to interact with union sisters and brothers (her peeps) as she called them to resolve and maintain quality and protect the integrity of the workers and
company.
Jacqueline was a great leader and enjoyed being in charge! She had a heart big as the universe and awesome sense of humor. Jackie was sharp as tack, she was smart, sensitive to others pain and was a force to be reckoned with when standing up for what’s right. She was proud, energetic, creative and very generous.
Jacqueline loved hosting, turning every occasion into unforgettable moments (Christmas, Family Reunions, Cookouts, Birthdays, Retirement Parties), she loved a good book, dancing, being surrounded by family, shopping for herself and others. Jacqueline donated to pretty much any charity that comes to mind!
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her parents Rosie B. Murry and William C. Murry, son Manuel D. Castillo and her beloved fur babies Yogi and Victor.
Jacqueline is survived by the devoted love of her life husband James C. Harney, sons Michael (Jona) Castillo, Lathon Harney, precious granddaughters; Aniyah Castillo, Adrianna Harney, handsome grandson Jaylen Castillo, sisters; BJ Murry, Shawna Moore, stepbrother Dion (Latrice) Adkisson, aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation for Jacqueline will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 3:00 PM.
