

He graduated from Jenkins High School in Jenkins, Kentucky in 1969 and accepted Christ as his savior in the same year. He married Nellie Gibson in 1970 and they moved to Ecorse, Michigan. They continued living in northern Indiana until moving to Indianapolis in 1978.
An exceptionally talented musician, Jim played in various local rock and roll bands during his teenage years. When he was saved, he gave up playing secular music and devoted his talents to worshiping God by being the head musician in many churches, playing piano, guitar, bass, and drums.
He died peacefully on November 5, 2014 at Village of Avon Assisted Living Center in Avon, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Nellie, son David, daughter-in-law Debie, and grandson Elijah.
Viewing will be Saturday, November 8th from 11:00am to 1:00pm in Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
