Obituary of James Earl  Brummett
James Earl Brummett, Entered into Heaven on Saturday, June 22, 2019, after a short battle of Kidney Cancer, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale Florida. James was born on September 29, 1946 in Columbus, Indiana, to Donald and Goldie (Freeman) Brummett. Both preceding him in death. He married Paula Kay (Fultz) Brummett on January 10, 1976 at Speedway Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Franklin Community High School and went on to Theology Seminary training for the Christian Ministry. He retired in 1998 from General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana where he worked for 30 years as "First Fireman Responder", Nicknamed, "The Fire Crib Cowboy". He had been a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Brownsburg, where he helped with the bus ministry for many years and served as a deacon. He attended Connection Pointe Church in Brownsburg, In. There he served by helping with Habitat for Humanity. After retiring he moved to the much warmer state, Florida. There he attended Four Corner Baptist Church, in Davenport, Florida. He was a member of Shamrock First Baptist Church in Haines City, Florida. James had a love for people and also bicycling. He would ride his bike miles a day sharing the word of God with those he would meet along the road. He had a love for cars, he enjoyed repairing them for himself and for others. He had an eye for doing fine detailed painting. He enjoyed working around the house and in his garage. He had a green thumb for planting pineapples around the property of their Florida home. He was a loving husband and father and grandfather and great-grandfather and friend to many. He was a hard worker. He had a great love for Jesus. He lead his family to faith in Christ. Survivors include his loving wife Paula Kay (Fultz)Brummett of Florida. His children, Patricia (Todd) McNabb of Franklin, In. Lynn Brummett of Franklin, In. Shawn Brummett of Franklin, In. James Brummett of Brownsburg, In. Marcus (Danielle) Brummett of Indianapolis, In. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ciara (Cameron) Duke, Nathan Sloat, Christopher Wright, Lauryn (Zach) Parker, Zachary Brummett, Ryann Brummett and Cohen Duke. His sister Janice (John) Taylor. Brother in law Danny (Cheryl) Fultz. Pastor Bill Turner will conduct a service celebrating the life of James Earl Brummett on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, Gothic Chapel at 700 38th St. Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 11:00 am until the time of service. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. Mr. Brummett will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery.
